Boys and Undies and Boots -- Oh My!!

 Steve got tickets to the stock show and everyone got boots! 

The boys loved theirs -- Preston has Aidan's old pair and Aidan got new boots. 

The stock show was really fun, we had fun seeing all the livestock animals and riding on the ponies. 

Daily Dialogues 2012

Aidan is now a sunbeam. Since I'm in Primary too, when I'm conducting or teaching he likes to give me hugs, talk to me and be my sidekick. We've been having FHE lessons about how to act and why he needs to sit with his class, etc. and he's been doing a lot better (we're also bribing him with reece's peanut butter eggs - but I don't think it's the chocolate, it has to be the lessons and discussions :) ). Anyway, today in Primary, he ran to me two times and said "Mommy, I'm doing great aren't I!" (Mar 25)

"Forever!" Aidan thinks he's saying "whatever" and it's hilarious.

"I think he (Preston) really likes me."

Re: Our new white and black plates from ikea - "these are for the storm troopers and those are for darth vader!"

Dream - "there was a land turtle, and he bit me on the toe"

after a bath - "ahhh - my skin is old!!"

Dream - "i was playing with my friend, and we were eating oreos. then she pinched it at me and it hit my head. it hurt."

Aidan to Steve: You are taller than mommy because dads are taller than moms. That's just how families go.

This year the Primary auxiliary was in charge of the Ward Christmas Party - we decided to do "A Night in Zarahemla." The cultural hall was transformed into a marketplace, we had the nativity scene and it was wonderful. 

We didn't have a real tree this year - after hosting Thanksgiving, being sick off and on and having all the other seasonal activities it was more than I could handle. It was weird not having one though. Preston would have probably pulled the whole thing over.

I feel bad that I didn't keep track of every move, word or food for Preston. I guess that's how it goes when you have more than one - not sure that it's fair. I could also blame it on the fact that he didn't sleep through the night for such a long time. 

Preston is a pistol. He is such a different baby than Aidan was -- not that I expected them to be the same. He gets in to everything and has a definite personality. He is energetic (i.e. not laid back). When he is happy he is really happy; when he is mad he is furious. He does not want to be left out of anything. 

Preston didn't sleep through the night once until he hit 10 months and even then it wasn't every night. He has had a rough time with sleep. It took me putting my name on the temple's prayer roll to accomplish it.

He is very verbal; even before we could understand what he was saying he was talking. He says "Na" and can make barking noise when we ask what the dog says. He understands A LOT! 

He calls his pacifier, pats and loves his blank (blanket). His first was mama and mah (for more). He is an excellent eater and loves fruits and veggies. He has never met a sucker he didn't like -- when in doubt, give the boy a sucker. 

March was a big month for Preston - he really started sitting up by himself and started to crawl and attempt to go up the stairs.

He started walking in August and really had it mastered by September. 

He likes balls and can throw and kick them. He loves to have a book read to him and it sometimes seems like that's what he wants all day long.
